What have we come back to?!

Weeds, weeds, weeds that's what we've come back to.  I was almost going to say its hardly worth having a holiday when we come back to all of this but I'd be lying; it was worth it!

Something unusual for those not used to growing pumpkins.  This is the Pumpkin plant we've been nurturing for approximately 4 months now.  You will notice one is pumpkin like, the other is still resembling a marrow ...in time it too will bunch up into a regular pumpkin shape, though not award winning pumpkin size.

From the same family, the pictures below show the yellow courgettes and summer satellite squash plants doing nicely considering the recent sun free summer weather we've been having... at this rate they will be harvested at the end of September!

This was the harvest available to us on Sunday, we would have had a lot more strawberries had a slug and ravenous bird not hacked their way under the netting and sampled a mouthful from a few dozen!

You may notice a few red gooseberries in the punnet, they are the last from the baby gooseberry bush planted in March this year - the dandelion leaves are for Freddy our Tortoise.
