Forgotten Leeks
It's still snowing, we have had 5 days of snow in the last 7 days, not at all what we expect this time of year. Today in 2012 we were experiencing a pre-season heat wave with temperatures reaching 29 degrees in parts of southern England whilst here in Yorkshire it was still a balmy 26 degrees; what a difference a year makes!
We decided to dig up the remaining leeks for our Sunday supper and dig over the last raised bed to be worked upon. Tempted to plant some seeds but decided against it considering the recent conditions.
The young strawberry plants (above) seem to be rooting ok, they're a little fed-up with this weather and long for warm sunny rays to brighten their leaves from a slightly botrytis brown to a healthy green - don't we all!
